A Russian scientist claims to have discovered life on Venus after analysing photographs taken by a Soviet probe that landed on the planet's surface 30 years ago.

The pictures - taken by the probe Venus-13 in 1982 - have been re-examined by Leonid Ksanfomaliti of the Space Research Institute at Russia's Academy of Sciences.

Ksanfomaliti said the images showed a scorpion-shaped body, a disc and a 'black flap,' which apparently moved as the probe's camera records the scene.

They all 'emerge, fluctuate and disappear,' explained Ksanfomaliti, writing in the Russian journal Solar System Research magazine, according to reports.

A mummified elongated skull found in Peru could finally prove the existence of aliens.
The strangely shaped head - almost as big as its 50cm (20in) body - has baffled anthropologists.
It was one of two sets of remains found in the city of Andahuaylillas in the southern province of Quispicanchi.

The skeletal sets were discovered by Renato Davila Riquelme, who works for the Privado Ritos Andinos museum in Cusco in south-eastern Peru.
He said that that the eye cavities are far larger than normally seen in humans.

A new documentary about Mayan civilization will provide evidence of extraterrestrial contact with the ancient culture, according to a Mexican government official and the film's producer.

"Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond," currently in production, will claim the Mayans had contact with extraterrestrials, producer Raul Julia-Levy revealed to TheWrap.

"Mexico will release codices, artifacts and significant documents with evidence of Mayan and extraterrestrial contact, and all of their information will be corroborated by archaeologists," said Julia-Levy, son of actor Raul Julia.

In a release to TheWrap, Luis Augusto Garcia Rosado, the minister of tourism for the Mexican state of Campeche, said new evidence has emerged "of contact between the Mayans and extraterrestrials, supported by translations of certain codices, which the government has kept secure in underground vaults for some time."

BBC News: Welsh UFO sightings revealed in latest government files

Details of UFO sightings across Wales in the last 25 years are revealed in files made public by the Ministry of Defence.

A UFO spotted over St Tudwal's Islands in the Llyn Peninsula in Gwynedd and a "slow-moving disc" seen at a festival in Llanfyllin, Powys, are included.

The 34 files released by the National Archives cover 1985 to 2007.

Accounts of sightings over Anglesey, Denbighshire, Cardiff and Swansea are also detailed.

IT'S drizzling on a grey Saturday morning and the leafy university campus is deserted.

Richard C Hoagland Richard Hoagland was a guest on Coast to Coast this week discussing Elenin and Vesta and the Secret Space Program.

Coast to Coast AM (20th July 2011): In the second half, as the Shuttle prepared to land on its last mission, C2C Science advisor Richard C. Hoagland discussed what he views as coming "game changer" events. NASA, he said, was for once, telling the truth about data they've been receiving from a space exploration-- in this case, sharing revealing photos of the Vesta asteroid, sent back by the Dawn spacecraft (see below). Hoagland suggested that the Vesta photos show evidence of geometric shapes that indicate ruins. The asteroid may in fact be a huge space station built by a Type 2 civilization, he announced.

The other game changer is the arrival of comet Elenin, which will make its closest pass on 9/11/11, and demonstrates numerical evidence of being artificially made, he continued. The object is on a hyperbolic trajectory which means that it has never passed the sun before. Hoagland theorized that the comet could be a kind of time capsule, possibly sent to us by an Atlantean civilization around 13,000 years ago.
